TISD Student Competes at Cowboy Game This Sunday
A Tyler ISD elementary student will take the field at the Dallas Cowboy game this weekend.  Britney Cisneros, a fourth grader at Andy Woods Elementary School, will compete at the Washington Redskin vs Dallas Cowboys football game on Sunday.  Cisneros placed first in the area NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK (PPK) competition back in October.  She then moved up to the sectional round where she placed 4^th overall.  READ MORE

TISD Board Approves Renovations For Birdwell, Owens

Tyler ISD Schools Get Top Marks From TEA

The Texas Education Agency awarded 40 Gold Performance Acknowledgments to 15 Tyler ISD schools, the school district announced.
Gold Performance Acknowledgements (GPAs) recognize districts and campuses for high academic performance on indicators such as commended performance on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test and significant improvement in reading and mathematics, according to TISD.

A top 100 national ranking of school districts, indicating which districts keep students safest when searching online, has been released. TISD School Earns EPA Designation

Jack Elementary School has earned the U.S. Environmental Agency’s ENERGY STAR designation.  This accomplishment will be recognized at the regular school board meeting to be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 7 p.m.  To earn the ENERGY STAR, a school must be more energy efficient than 75% of similar buildings nationwide.  READ MORE
