News Release St. Louis Students Set to Graduate A special celebration will take place this week in Tyler Independent School District. St. Louis School will host summer graduation ceremonies Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St Louis School, located at 2800 Walton Road, Tyler. Four students will be honored: David Bush, Christopher Ray, Melvin Rolf, and Layton Wolf.
David Bush has been part of the St. Louis School family for 14 years. This past school year David won a medal at the Special Olympics track meet.
Christopher Ray has been part of the St. Louis School family for 10 years. Chris enjoys listening to music, singing his favorite songs, riding adult trikes, and going to Wal-Mart.
Melvin Rolf has been part of the St. Louis School family for 11 years. Melvin likes to play marbles, computer games and listening to Elvis Presley music.
Layton Wolf has been part of the St. Louis School family for just over three years but has left his mark on staff and students. Layton loves to interact with adults, watch videos and ride the bus.
“It has been a privilege to work with the four young men who are graduating this year,” said Karyn Hacker, St. Louis School Principal. “Each of these students has enriched my life and the lives of other staff members. They are entering a new chapter of their lives and we will miss seeing them each day,” said Hacker.
There are day programs and sheltered workshops available in the community for these students after graduation. Tyler ISD works with the parents and program administrators to successfully transition the former students into their post graduate programs.
