TISD School Receives Funds for Playground

Students at Dr. Bryan C. Jack Elementary School are celebrating a new addition to their campus.  A  ribbon cutting for the new upper-level playground will be on Friday, August 29, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. at Dr. Bryan C. Jack Elementary School, located at 1900 Balsam Gap in Tyler.

“Thanks to these generous donations and the support from our Jack parents, the PTA raised $42,000 for the upper-level playground equipment,” said  Lisa Preddy, PTA Parliamentarian and past president.  “I am proud that Jack Elementary now has this fun and sturdy equipment to serve not only the students at Jack during the school day, but the Boys and Girls Club after school program, as well.”

The PTA raised the funds to purchase the equipment through a local business and foundation donations, including Petty Irrigation, the TB Butler Foundation and the Tyler ISD Foundation.  Several families of Jack Elementary students made donations toward the playground fund, as well.
