News Release Theme Selected for Tyler ISD Foundation Campaign
Directors and donors of the Tyler ISD Foundation believe in the District, its students, teachers and staff, and during their upcoming fundraising campaign they will have the opportunity to make the community aware of why they believe so strongly in Tyler ISD.
“The theme for this year’s campaign is simple, but powerful: We Believe in Tyler ISD,” said Vice President of Programs, Catherine Harrison. “As the Tyler ISD Foundation, we believe in the power of education to open doors, strengthen communities and change lives.”
“Our 18th annual campaign will kick off later this month,” said Tyler ISD Foundation executive director Larry Goddard, “and the Board Directors chose a theme that will inspire area donors to think about the power of education and how important it is to our community, state and nation.”
The official campaign begins October 30th and will continue until March 1st. Campaign Chair is Ross Conner of Conner Communities Custom Homes and Century 21 First Group. This is the second year that Conner has chaired the education foundation’s campaign. Last year’s campaign raised close to $400,000. The goal of the campaign will be announced at the kickoff luncheon, Thursday, October 30th at Willow Brook Country Club.
“We are grateful to the generous nature of Tyler citizens and business owners. They realize the critical need for funding support of our classroom teachers and this campaign will be geared to providing funding for the areas of greatest needs in Tyler ISD,” said campaign chair Ross Conner.
“Our campaign is conducted 100% by our volunteers who also serve as directors on the 32 member Foundation Board of Directors,” said Goddard. “The directors will be contacting the community business leaders and civic-minded donors in making an investment in the Tyler public school district. Private dollars are needed to provide funding for programs not included in government funding.”
