News Release TISD with Help from Senator Eltife Raise more than $16,000
Thanks to the employees of the Tyler Independent School District, Texas State Senator Kevin Eltife, and the fans at Friday night’s Robert E. Lee vs. John Tyler football game, Tyler ISD is proud to announce that $16,547.87 has been collected for the Todd Henry Memorial Scholarship Fund.
As employees and campuses throughout the District pooled their funds to make one donation on behalf of the District, Senator Eltife graciously stepped forward to contribute $10,000 to the cause.
The evening’s football game opened with a special video memorial to Mr. Henry, Special Education teacher at John Tyler High School, who tragically died in September. Jan Henry, wife of Todd Henry, and Senator Eltife spoke to the crowd and observed the ceremonial coin toss on the field prior to the start of the game.
People can still make donations to The Todd Henry Scholarship, c/o Cooperative Teacher's Credit Union, 1424 WSW Loop 323, Tyler, 75701.
