Congratulations
to the Moore Middle School Mustang Cheerleaders -
the 2009-2010 NCA DOUBLE National Champions! The
cheerleaders achieved two spectacular wins on the
national level on December 28th & 29th at the Dallas
Convention Center. On the 28th, the cheerleaders
competed in the middle school performance division
coming out of the preliminaries with a 74.83 out of a
maximum of 80 points; they were a full 4 points ahead of
their closest competition. They entered finals on the
29th ready to dominate - and dominate they did! Scoring
a 76.33 - they pulled even further ahead of their rivals
- securing the Middle School Performance National Title.
Our cheerleaders also competed for the Game Time
National Title - performing their Sideline Cheer, Time
Out Dance, and Fight Song. This was a tough battle. Two
of the eight teams in the finals for Game Time were
former national champions. Our girls placed 4th overall
in Sideline Cheer, 1st overall in Fight Song, and 1st
overall in Time Out Dance. The three routine scores were
averaged together for the National Grand Champion Title.
In third place was A.E. Phillips Middle School from
Louisiana; Second place was captured by last year's
rivals from Jenks, Oklahoma; and the first place
National Grand Championship Title went to MOORE MIDDLE
SCHOOL!
Our cheerleaders were awarded two massive trophies, two
national champion banners, 3 award megaphones, and NCA
National Championship Jackets. NCA National Championship
Titles are the most prestigious in the world of
cheerleading; you don't get any bigger than NCA! Be sure
to watch your TV Guide for the Moore Cheerleaders as
they perform their winning routines on ESPN 2 sometime
in mid-February. To top it off, Moore was singled out by
the ESPN 2 camera crew to be interviewed for the TV
program. Moore is the first middle school in the history
of the show to be chosen for the interview feature.
