QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED

  2. Locksmith Certification and extensive experience in both glass and lock

  3. Demonstrate aptitude for successfully performing tasks assigned.

  4. Demonstrate ability to work and to get along with people.

  5. Willingness to work overtime occasionally.

  6. Maintain current Texas Driver License; maintain appropriate driving record for insurance purposes.

REPORTS TO:        CARPENTER FOREMAN

JOB GOALS:

  1. Maintain door hardware in good working condition.

  2. Maintain all keys up-to-date throughout the district.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Noncontractual (At-will); Manual/Trades Paygrade: 5; Estimated 232 days; estimated 8 hours daily
Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1.       

Maintain all locks in good repair and keys functional.

2.       

Maintain accurate accounting of keys.

3.       

Maintain door closures working properly.

4.       

Maintain door hinges in good repair.

5.       

Maintain computerized key management system.

6.       

Maintain master key system integrity.

7.       

Install new locks and hardware as needed.

8.       

Climb and work from ladder.

9.       

Maintain truck and tools in good working conditions.

10.    

Maintain accurate record of daily activities.

11.    

Clean up work area after job is completed.

12.    

Communicate with school personnel in reference to work to be accomplished and when completed.

13.    

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks, assuming responsibilities assigned.

14.    

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

15.    

Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing daily tasks.

16.    

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

17.    

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.

18.    

Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

19.    

Complies with district policies as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

EQUIPMENT USED:
Competent in use of all tools and locksmith trade; ability to operate key cutting machine.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands:  Reading; ability to understand verbal and written instructions. 

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:  Demonstrate good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual tasks and body movement including strenuous walking, standing, carrying and/or climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching stooping, bending; work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures
