Assess, recognize, and evaluate all athletic injuries.

Be available for middle school athletic events held on the high school
campus.
|
|
3.
|
Travel with the varsity football team and any varsity team that makes
the playoffs.
|
|
4.
|
Promptly provide proper emergency care for injuries; refer serious
injuries to a physician;
cooperate with physicians in carrying out treatments and rehabilitation
of injured athletes; approve the injured athlete’s return to active
participation when the physician is not present.

|
Evaluate injured athletes returning from middle and high school
out-of-town games.
|
|
6.
|
For each high school athlete, compile and maintain a file that includes
current physical examination
by a physician, written releases, injury reports and other notes.
|
|
7.
|
Keep a written daily treatment log; report injuries to the athlete’s
head coach.
|
|
8.
|
Assist and advise coaches in off-season drills/conditioning, in-service
training, and coaching techniques that will meet the many needs of the
individual athletes.
|
|
9.
|
Comply with policies established by federal and state law (UIL, OSHA,
statute 41.2791), State Board of Education rule, and the local Board of
Trustees.
|

|
Maintain good standing with the Texas Department of Health and the
National Athletic Trainers Association.
|
|
11.
|
Select and train student-trainers to assist in the athletic training
program.
|
|
12.
|
Instruct and supervise student-athletes in their rehabilitation.
|
|
13.
|
Support and enforce the campus and district student code of conduct.
|
|
14.
|
Improve leadership skills through self-initiated professional
development activities.
|
|
15.
|
Perform duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as
defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators.
|
|
16.
|
Use information provided through the District appraisal process to
improve performance.
|
|
17.
|
Articulate the district mission to the community; solicit its support in
realizing the mission; build ties with the medical community.
|
|
18.
|
Demonstrate effective and verbal communication skills when communicating
with athletes, parents, coaches, and physicians.
|
|
19.
|
Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities
to meet those identified needs.
|
|
20.
|
Perform other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the
position and as assigned.
