625A Facilitator of High School Completion and Accountability


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Teacher Certification

  2. Bachelor’s Degree

  3. High School or Post-Secondary Experience

  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Secondary Education

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Administrative/Professional Pay Grade 3, 204 days, Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

JOB GOAL:  To insure that every student in the district completes high school and is prepared for post-secondary education.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains a working knowledge of state law, Board policy, and administrative regulations regarding attendance, completion rate, and drop outs.

Confers regularly with the director of assessment and accountability and the coordinator of PEIMS regarding attendance matters.

Collates monthly attendance reports from all schools, compiles monthly district wide attendance reports, and instructs teachers and attendance clerks whose registers are in questionable order.

Conducts such auditing of enrollment, attendance, and transfer records in the various schools as may be necessary to ensure compliance with applicable laws, sound principles of accounting for student personnel, and accountability requirements.

Appears personally at school assemblies and is available to administrators, teachers, students and parents on an individual basis to explain laws and policies and encourage faithful attendance.

Works closely with guidance counselors in the identification and counseling of potential dropouts.

Prepares an annual report on attendance and related matters in the district for the superintendent.

Researches and recommends best practices to insure high school completion.

Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities related to the job goal.

Improves leadership skills through self-initiated professional development activities.

11 Performs duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators.
12 Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position as assigned.
13 Annually establishes and meets performance goals.

Oversees the PEIMS process as it relates to the department.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Mental Demands: Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; coordinate district-wide functions.

Physical Demands: Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer
