From Ms. Franklin:
My best
friend, Natalie and her husband are missionaries in Africa (Liberia) and
they are back in the US until she has her baby. I asked them to come
and share some of their experiences with the children and they loved it.

Ms. Franklin's class was very excited to learn about the lifestyle
of children in Africa. Mr. Benjamin and Natalie Colby shared a
presentation about their experiences in Liberia.

A Visit from Dr. Reid
Tyler ISD Head Start
services a total of 432 students. The classrooms range from 17 to
20 students, but not more than 20. Each classroom is staffed with
a certified teacher and a support teacher. During the school year,
the teachers may also choose to have a John Tyler student assist in the
classroom. These students are in the Early Childhood Education
program at John Tyler and participate in the classroom two to three
times a week. The classrooms are located on 12 of the 16
elementary campuses.
