2004 Bond Board Update

·        A & E Consultants

 

A.     Design team meetings are scheduled for the Bell, Ramey and R/O Relief Elementary Schools the week of May 22.  The design teams are meeting with the Campus Design Leadership Teams at each campus to go over interior color recommendations and landscape designs that will be unique to each campus.

 

B.     TSC and TISD’s Facility Department are continuing to meet with district director level personnel to help establish district-wide standards for the prototype designs.

 

C.     Both design teams have completed the Civil Packages at Ramey, Bell and Rice/Owens Relief Campuses.  The scope of these packages include keystone retaining wall, underground utility work, earthwork/grading, lime stabilization, concrete paving, asphalt paving, and erosion control fencing.

 

·        Construction Manager

 

A.                 Bidding/Construction Services

 

a.       In order to meet the civil site package construction schedule at Bell ES, the construction package to relocate the Gymnasium was approved by the Board on 4/21.  Additionally, Tyler ISD successfully relocated a portable classroom without disruption to the scheduled curriculum delivery.  This portable was required to relocate in order to make room for the relocated gymnasium. 

 

b.      Denson Construction Company is scheduled to receive proposals on the Civil Package for all three campuses on May 25th.  Once the proposals are reviewed, we will present the Civil GMP’s for Board approval on June 1st.                               

 

·        Technology

 

a.       TSC is continuing to coordinate the technology design documents with TISD and the MEP consultants and Architects.

 

b.      The technology consultant is working on the design documents that will be included in the final construction documents. 

 

·        Real Estate

 

a.       Ramey & Douglas Elementary Schools

1.      The Boundary Surveys has been provided to TISD for their use with the City of Tyler in their ongoing property negotiations.
