Lady Mustangs continue winning ways
Congratulations to the Lady Mustang 7th
grade volleyball teams for an excellent season. Yesterday
afternoon the Lady Mustangs traveled to Boulter to finish out
the season. In Mustang style the ladies fought hard and both
teams won their games.
In the White team’s
game the Boulter Vikings came out swinging. They yelled and
bellowed and they muttered and roared. The battle hung in the
balance as both teams bolted for the ball. The Lady Vikings
flexed their might and seemed to have the game tucked away
nicely. Yet the Lady Mustangs would not give in. Summoning
strength from within, the Lady Mustangs rallied to the win led
by the serving prowess of Hyland Hefner. In the second game the
Lady Mustangs were able to put away the Lady Vikings easily with
a 25-12 victory. This conclusion to the White team’s season
finalizes the DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP with a record of 9 wins and
1 loss.
The Red team found
themselves also in a fierce battle. After two games the match
was split; dark clouds circled the gym, and the Lady Mustangs
geared up for the tie breaking game of the century. The Lady
Vikings could taste victory, but the Lady Mustangs altered their
equilibrium and came out with the win 25-15. Ending the season
with a record of 6-4. What an amazing season. Way to go
Ladies! Head Hunters for the game are:Hyland Hefner, Dané

Lady Mustangs win again WE are the CHAMPIONS!! That's right after the last ball had been
served BOTH teams have been declared CHAMPS. On the Minor team
Tori McGee went on a serving spree to get the Lady Mustangs to
game three. Olivia Price turned on her hustle to keep balls in
play that we thought were sure to be dead balls. The Major Team
was on a mission. The only obstacle standing in the way of the
championship was Hogg. The ladies put on their game faces and it
only took two games. It was a TOTAL team effort. So its hard to
pick head hunters. Next week we take on Boulter in an
attempt to end the season with a perfect record of 10-0 for the
Major Team and 7-1 for the Minor Team..

Team captures the Gold Ball Congratulations to the 8th grade District Champions!!! The 8th
grade football team brought home another Gold Ball for the Moore
trophy case last night by beating the Huskies 24-8. Moore
started off the game with Reggie Gipson exploding around the
right end and romping for 65 yards on the first play of the game
and Terry Ausborne followed by taking in the 2 point
conversion. The Huskies took the ball and moved right down to
Mustang territory and threatened to score from inside the 5 yard
line but the Mustang defense held strong and stopped every
attempt. Moore then methodically drove the ball down the field
behind the blocking of Asagnansi, Stefano, Hood, McCabe, Rendon,
Gaona, Johnston and Gee and went in for another Gipson score and
2 point conversion by Ausborne to go up 16-0 at the Half.
Hubbard came out determined to not give up and completed a 70
yard TD pass to get back in the game making the score 16-8.
However, the Mustangs kept their heads high and again marched
down the field on a long run by Malik Hubbard and a 25 yard
touchdown run by EJ Williams and conversion by Gipson. The
Huskies again tried to go to their passing attack only to be
denied by an acrobatic one handed interception by Terry Ausborne.
Defensive standouts were Stefano, Gee, Williams and Taylor.
Congratulations Mustangs on a great season and on being
Champions!!!! Head Hunter and winner of Mr. Lane's spirit
towel is Terry Ausborne for his one handed interception to seal
the game.

the ball for the final drive only to be halted by a fumble

year. Good job! Head Hunter and winner of the Mr. Lane's

Boys beat the Huskies at Homecoming to share District
Championship Wednesday at Rose Stadium the 7th grade boys wrapped up their
football season taking on the Huskies of Hubbard. Both teams
fought hard as the first half ended in a 0 – 0 tie. The mustang
offense played well driving down within the ten yard line but
could not score. The Mustang defense held Hubbard from scoring
by using a stifling defense capturing Hubbard behind the line of
scrimmage on several key plays.
In the second half
the Mustangs came out fighting. Taking charge over the Huskies
and outscoring their opponents 20 – 8. Scoring for the Mustangs
was Jeremy Wilson with two touchdowns and an extra point.
Tresdon Brooks scored a third touchdown giving Moore all the
points it would need to finish off the Hubbard Huskies. Aaron
Amie and Billy Warren each had an interception to keep the
Huskies from scoring. Even the special teams contributed in
giving Moore the win. After the Mustangs drove into the end
zone, Garrett Farmer recovered the kick off giving the Mustangs
the ball at the Hubbard 30 yard line giving the Mustangs great
field position.
Congratulations to
the Mustangs for a great win and a successful season. The
Mustangs finished with a record of 3 – 2 – 1. Jeremy Wilson was
the headhunter for the game. Special props go out to the
Offensive line for a great job of controlling the tempo of the
ballgame.

Girls clobber the Razorbacks Beauty is… an afternoon in Mustang Country. Yesterday the Lady
Razorbacks came into the house of the Mighty Mustangs. Can you
predict what the outcome was? Well let me tell you, The Lady
Mustangs took charge in both games and came away victorious. In
the White team’s game the Lady Mustangs shot out of the gate
with an early lead and won the game with a final score of 25-6.
In the second game the Lady Razorbacks came up with an
interesting theory. They decided to take a 5 point lead and
stop us in our tracks. It worked and the Lady Razorbacks forced
a tie breaking 3rd game. With the match in the balance, the
Lady Mustangs fought hard and won the third game 25-21. The
White team’s record is 8/1 with one game to play in the season.
It’s looking like we’ve got some district champs in the house!
The Red team went into the game inferring they would be the
winners based on our previous victory against the Lady
Razorbacks. The winning scores were 25-21 and 25-16. In
conclusion, the Red team served up roasted hog on a platter and
won their match in two games. Head Hunters for the game were:

Girls bury the Gophers The Lady Mustangs had their hands full yesterday as they took on
the Lady Gophers of Stewart. This is the only team that the
Minor Team has lost to. On yesterday they decided not to let the
Gophers see the light of day beating them in two games. The
scores were 25-14, 25-18. The compound of great serves and
passing was their element of surprise as they struggled with it
in Gopher land. This brings their record to 5-1. The Major team
also won, but it took three games. Moore won 25-14, Stewart won
25-18, and game three the score was 25-16. With this victory the
Lady Mustangs improve their record to 8-0. The head hunters
are: Claire Whitley, Brianna Leach, and Olivia Price from the
Minor Team. The Major Team head hunters are: Jamie Apoderado,
Danielle Pettigrew, and Paige White. On Thursday, October 29th
we take on Hogg the deciding game that determines District
Champions, so come out and cheer us on to victory.

Moore clobbers the Gophers Yesterday the Lady Gophers scurried over to Mustang Country only to be launched
back into their holes. Both teams won in two games and the place was jumpin’!
The White team took an early lead and never let up. Dané Cook fired up 20
consecutive unreturned serves and the Lady Mustangs took the game 25-3. In the
White team’s second match Hyland Hefner took the helm and fired away a barrage
of unreturned serves that led to the 25-14 victory. Way to rock the house Lady
Mustangs. Next up it was the Red Team’s turn to go head toe with the Gophers,
but alas, no toes could be found. The Red Team’s scores were 25-14 and 25-22. It
was a total team effort on the Red Team’s court as they stampeded their way to a
decisive victory. Head Hunters for the games are: Hyland Hefner, Lorena Guzman,

Moore hurts Hubbard The saga continues...Moore traveled to Hubbard on yesterday with the intent to
emerge victorious. The Minor team got the ball rolling defeating the Lady
Huskies in two straight games. The score to game one was 25-22 and game
two the score was 25-18. Byrd's alternating (underhand/overhand) serves
soared over the net leaving the Lady Huskies in a daze. Walston waltzed
onto the court and gave us a much needed boost while Warren gave no warning as
she went into attack mode. This victory takes the Minor team to 5-1.
The Lady Huskies
were nipping at the heels of the Lady Mustangs from the
start. Both teams were a bunch of nerves and it was
written all over their faces, but Moore struck first winning
game one by the score of 26-24 putting the pressure
on Hubbard. Hubbard regrouped and squeaked out a win
in game two with a score of 25-22. The Lady Mustangs
decided enough was enough and kicked it into overdrive
leaving the Lady Huskies in a cloud of dust winning the
final game 25-10. This win preserves the Major
teams' status "undefeated" with a record of 7-0. This
was truly a team effort. Everyone added a spark when
it was needed to create the push we needed to be successful.
The Lady Mustangs are in action at home next week against
Stewart come out and show your support.

Yesterday the
Lady Mustangs traveled to Dogan to fly with the eagles.
The white team flew away
with a quick win in their first game. In the second game the
Lady Falcons were flying high and were ready to swoop in for
the win. The Lady Mustangs were down and out and it was
looking bleak. With the score 21-14 Falcons, the Lady
Mustangs staged the biggest, baddest, stampeding comeback in
the history of modern day middle school athletics. The Lady
Mustangs came back to win 25-23.
The red team came
in ready for action. The Lady Falcons jumped ahead with an
early lead, but the Lady Mustang Grace Ensey put up six
consistent serves and the team fought back to tie the game.
Unfortunately, the Lady Falcons got the ball back and were
able to score the game winning points for a final of 25-22.
In the second game the Lady Mustangs again fought hard and
kept the game close all the way. Alex Gooding also had a
round of great serves to help rally the team, but again we
fell short and the Lady Falcons pulled away with a 25-20
win.
Head Hunters for
the games were Alex Gooding, Danisha Owens, Aailyah Woalee,
Naomi Sutton, and Hyland Hefner

they were going to have to play. The Minor team started out
slow and lost the first game 22-25. The second game the Lady

came out on fire and beat the Lady Razorback in game one 25-14.
The Lady Razorbacks bounced back in game two spiking their way

excitement. Both teams exhibited why they "shared" the title of
District Champions. It came down to team who made
fewer mistakes and it ended up being MOORE. The final score was

yesterday where the Minor team suffered their first loss in a

7th Girls Volleyball split wins
at Stewart
Last night the Lady Mustangs
traveled to Stewart in search of gophers to stomp. The B
team played the first game close and took a narrow victory of
25-23. In the second game the Lady Mustangs put on their
stomping shoes and danced to a 25-11 victory. Head Hunters for
the game were Cheyenne Thompson and Ariel Taylor. Way to go
ladies, ya done good!
The A team
however, didn’t come away with a victory. Their usual
devastating serves were denied by the Gopher’s low hanging
ceiling. They fought neck and neck with the score tied through
most of the games, but the Gophers were able to pop out a win.
Next Monday we square off with the Lady Razorbacks. Come support
your Lady Mustangs!
