IB Prep World History Summer Reading Selection (10th Grade, 2008-2009) Students, read the following books and make notes for memorable information in the margins. This needs to be finished before the first day of class in the fall. |

1. GENGHIS KHAN AND THE MONGOL EMPIRE by Jean-Paul Roux – ISBN # 0-8109-9103-9 (small book with tons of information about the Mongols. – 133 pages with many colorful inserts/ little text.) |

2. JACKIE TEMPO AND THE THE EMPEROR’S SEAL by Suzanne Litrel – ISBN # 978-0-595-46822-5 $13.95 (teen fiction about the Ming Empire – easy reading. - 154 pages, larger print.) |

3. SALT – Mark Kurlansky – ISBN #0-14-200161-9 (Used last year; probably some of the IB students from last year can loan them the book or sell it as a used book. This is the longest of the three, but is helpful in tracing World History through a commodity.) |
