As a violinist/violist/Fiddler I know the need for different styles of music and entertainment. As musicians we explore different styles and see what's out there and what we like. I decided to start a "Fiddle" group about 5 years ago with 4 students and lots of enthusiasm. Since the beginning it has grown to about 20 fiddlers, 2 basses and 2 guitars. The music ranges from "breakdowns, Waltzes, Schottische, historical and of course Western Swing! We perform for school and civic functions as well as the orchestra performances. We have performed for Mark O'Connor, Women's Symphony League,2006 Cattle Barons' functions, Tyler Area Business Expo and the Smith Co. Medical Alliance just to name a few.
