Summer Information For New Kindergarten Parents

·         Read to them, especially books with rhyming.

·         Practice writing name with only capitalizing the first letter, the rest lowercase.

·         Practice cutting with scissors.

·         Practice letter recognition and number recognition.

·         Buy appropriate play clothes and shoes for Kindergarten (we paint, we exercise, we sit on the floor,   and we climb playground equipment).

·         Children need to be able to dress themselves:

1.     Snap/Unsnap own pants (think of bathroom)

2.     Be able to easily get out of their clothes for the restroom.

3.     Practice tying shoes.
